About
The major role of Friends of School is to become a liaison between schools, and the Intergenerational Enterprise.
The Intergenerational Enterprise consists of high school and college alumni, and other concerned citizens, who seek to help create internships, jobs, entreprenuership for students to work within their community.”
The major goal of the Friends of School program is to place every student, who completes the internship, with a job and/or ownership opportunity within his or her community.
One of the functions of the Intergenerational Enterprise is to bring supporters from the community, to support plans initiated by students.
How does this program begin at a school site?
Friends of school begins at a school site when students leaders create a voice to facilitate student decisions.
One of the functions of the Friends of school internship is to enable students to facilitate monthly discussions about various opportunities available to youth in the community.
Each month the Intergenerational Enterprise will meet to share resources and strategies to improve the school and its surrounding community.
Since the internet is one of the best forms of communication to reach a large number of people, students will keep the communiity abreast of its affairs by updating the site: friendsofschool/their school.html.
If you would like participate in an Intergenerational Enterprise meeting, please email a brief biography or resume to info@friendsofschool.org
